We have received the following letter from:

Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO) Products to Support Emergency Planning

"I write to advise those organisations in Porirua and the Hutt Valley who use Readynet as an alerting and planning tool, that this product will no longer be available. The Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO) has accordingly been working on a range of replacement products that are easy to use and will add value to your organisation.
For households and businesses, WREMO has expanded its award winning It’s Easy: get prepared for an emergency into a series of guides for households, neighbourhoods and businesses. It’s Easy provides the basic steps to help you get your household prepared as well as connect with your neighbours so that you can work together in a more structured way in an emergency.
It’s Easy: Prepared Businesses is an easy-to-complete Business Continuity Plan to help small to medium sized organisations get back on their feet as soon as possible after a small or large disruption.
You can download It’s Easy: Prepared Households at www.getprepared.org.nz/households

Prepared Neighbours and Prepared Businesses will be available in early 2014. You will find them on our website www.getprepared.org.nz when available.
Finally, organisations and individuals can sign up to WREMO’s free Emergency Text Alert service by simply texting “follow WREMOalert” to 8987 and reply with “set discover off”. In the event of a possible life-threatening emergency, WREMO will send out a quick heads-up to your cell phone with information about the emergency event and advice about what to do.
In addition to our website, people can follow WREMO before, during and after an emergency via our Facebook page, and Twitter site - WREMOinfo. During an emergency, WREMO will quickly update these sites with relevant information so you can make the appropriate decisions for yourself, your household, and your organisation.
Like all technology, a single contact mechanism may not work 100% of the time in every event. We suggest tapping into as many sources of information as possible when necessary.
